Sneak Peek!

Heya!

Well, finals are done for me at 1:30 tomorrow...er...today. Oh, and I used my last assignment for Materials and Techniques to make a 3-page teaser for a bigger project! Have a peek!

New Name, New Look, New Site!

Hey all! My name is Mae Mae, and I'm not new to Blogger. In fact, you may have been directed here by previous blog, DoodleFuzz. I finally got my stuff together, and got the blog title I wanted. Now it matches my studio name, and I don't have to worry as much about people getting confused.

Initially, I wanted "StarDustInk" as my blog name, but someone already took it, so I went with an old tag "DoodleFuzz". I slapped a 'y' on Dust, and it just looked lovely, ya know? I may maintain DoodleFuzz as an actual Doodle account, but I seriously doubt it.

But anyway, if you happen to stumble over here before I manage to spiffy the place up, I apologize!

Something to Post

Heya!

So, I'm slacking on posting stuff. I apologize. I mean, I didn't post all summer. But, that's okay. School is back, and I seem to be getting out of my art-funk. I have some traditional sketches, but no scanner until I get my lazy self up to the school to do it. So, have an old comic page instead.

Comic Strip

So, a friend of mine handed me a Bamboo Pen and Touch and said "It's dangerous to go alone, here, take this."

I decided to try it out by drawing a goofy, super-awful comic.

The End!

The quarter is over! Have some stuff! But first, a bit of an update. Due to unfortunate events, my Yeti comic for the SCAD-Sequential Department anthology, "Sightings" was not printed. I'm fuzzy on the details, but it's okay. There's always next quarter! Because of this, I have nothing to show at Heros Con, so I will not be attending.

Now back to the good part!
Well, the mostly good part. Here's the comic I submitted. Admittedly, it needs work, but I'm really proud of how it came out. I can see improvements in my work, but I also see weaknesses. Fortunately, I have all summer to get better!

I completed another comic for a class, which I am also proud of. Swingin' Spidey!

That's all for this update! Look forward to maquettes and tons of sketches!

Untitled Project

Heya! I've got sketches for you guys, but I suppose I'll save that post for later. Today I've got some character design work for my Character Design for Animation class. We've begun our original story project, and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it. These are the two I came up with for my original story. (I may post the script at some point...but probably not.)

Jacob, the young LARPer geek.

Kresh, the helpful Faun.

Problems.

Heya!

I hate to post something without pretty pictures, but that's just it! I haven't been able to upload pictures to Blogger since my last post. I don't know if it's my computer, the connection, or some outside force that's out to destroy me. Who knows. I just wanted to let you guys know, I'd be posting, if I could. I've got tons of sketches, a bit of classwork, and soon, I'll have pencils for a little 3-pager I'm doing for an Anthology. (Ready just in time for Heroes Con!)

About Heroes Con.
I don't know if I'll be able to go. I don't have the funds, or a ride, or a room. The con is also on the weekend I get out of school, so it will be a pain to try and move out while trying to get to a different state for a con. (Especially right after finals!) It's looking rather bleak, but I'm going to try to get myself up to Charlotte, NC. Here's hoping. Oh, and if I'm not there, one of my comics will be! Look out for my Yeti story in the SCAD "Sightings" anthology.

Rocky's Commission

I didn't get a chance to put all my sketches together for today, but I did finish a tattoo commission for my good friend Rocky. Check these lovely ladies out!  They'll be done up on his back, and between them will be a super cool yin/yang skull thing. (That way it looks like they're controlling/magicking the skull) I think it'll look neat.

Sketch Dump!

I went out and bought a toned sketchbook a week or two ago. Though I don't use it that often, I absolutely love drawing in it! Here are some of the inks I've done in it. (The pencils don't scan well, or else I'd upload them as well!)

Intro Comics

Dunno why I haven't posted these before now. This is my 3-Pager that I did for my final for Intro to Comics. Before SCAD, I only had a casual interest in comics, and had only read one or two graphic novels, and maybe made made 3 comics total. So, I'm rather proud of these and my progress so far.

Character Designs

Heya! So, Monday was my birthday. It was quite nice. I've been working hard in all my classes, and have a few things I can show you from them! These images are part of a franchise assignment I'm doing for my Character Design for Animation/Story-boarding. I was assigned to create Aztec and Conquistador characters, and chose the "Hunchback of Notre Dame" Disney franchise. I'm proud of them, but I know I can do better.

The first design is for an Aztec guy named "Matlalihitl", or "Mat" for short.
The second is for a Conquistador named "Diego de Alvarado", or "Diego" for short.

Sketchdump

So, I feel bad making this thing and not posting anything yet. Here, have some inks. The first is a silly doodle of my friends and I running around in Kigurumi. The second were just some sketches of myself.

Very First Blog Post!

Hello there, Blogger!
I sure hope this blog site will be more fun than the last internet place-holder I tried to keep.
I'm Mae, but you can call me what you like. It's the internet, so you don't have to be formal, but it's appreciated. I fully intend on using this whole Blogger thing to show some of my art and things to the world. Wouldn't it be lovely if you joined me in this venture?
